At Michigan Tech, this year's Winter Carnival theme revolves around books, so there's Harry Potter, "The Little Engine That Could," and a ten-foot-tall toilet celebrating the childhood classic "Everybody Poops." The sculpture that catches our eye, however, has nothing to do with reading. In fact, it's less of a snow statue and more of a snow speaker cabinet, measuring roughly 20 feet wide and 10 feet tall and holding 68 speakers wired to a 20-kilowatt generator. Photographer AJ Mueller envisions shots with partiers, the speaker wall, and one of our cars, so he interrupts a couple students screwing speakers into their plywood cutouts and proposes we bring the Juke back in a couple hours. "Are you sure you want to do that?" one student asks. "Last year they flipped a car."

By 11 pm, the speaker-statue and Ludacris' "My Chick Bad" have drawn a couple hundred students into a pulsating, bobbing mass of energy. Just what Mueller wanted. We shouldn't be surprised that college students in Houghton, Michigan, aren't so different from the booze-loving college students at any other university in America. We are, however, amused by the dress code: ski googles to shield eyes from the blowing snow, CamelBaks for handsfree alcohol consumption, and enough layers to turn everyone into genderless blobs. Those who are much more cavalier about the weather, such as the gorilla and the dragon that pose with the Juke, stay warm with their alcohol-fueled enthusiasm.

We shoot photos for at least twenty minutes and several cops walk by without acknowledging us, but when we move the car for a new angle, we finally draw the attention of three officers in a patrol car. They're not pleased that our Nissan is parked halfway on the sidewalk and partially in a driveway. It'd be better, they say, if we pulled the car completely onto the sidewalk.

As they retreat into their mobile shelter, one of them calls back, "Oh, and hurry up, because the students are going to flip it."

Jan 7th - 10th was the time for the 2011 CES in Las Vegas USA.
And of course MTX was present with a big booth.

This year CES saw many people visiting and all were very impressed with the new products MTX has to offer for 2011.

JJ-HiFi MTX distributor for Finland has a world premiére !

Not only did they build a FANTASTIC and INCREDIBLY LOUD car with the new 24" square Jackhammer.
It is also the first car in the world to feature the BIGGEST Subwoofer on the planet!

Jarmo Forss owner of this Hummer wanted something special installed. The second he mentioned this to Sami from JJ-HiFi, Sami could only think of one thing : JACKHAMMER 24!
"It's insane loud", those are the exact words from Sami after playing some hours with the system installed in the Hummer. But not only is it incredibly loud the car also shows the incredible installation skills from JJ-HiFi. From front to back each part of the car has something special.

The front doors are installed with 4x T8652 components. A closer look shows that the mids actually have a ported enclosure to really get every last drop of KICKBASS out of them. The solution to install the tweeters of these 4 sets is just awesome!

In the back you can find the bass amps installed in the roof of the car and Sir Jack received a custom vented enclosure buil from steel and glass. To show off Sir Jack even better the entire enclosure is mounted in a way it can slide out of the car by a touch of a button.

Europian Champion EMMA ESPL 2010

At the EMMA European finals 2010 held in Rotterdam on September 9th + 11th Ronald and his Vectra sporting a serious MTX install managed to become European champion 2010 in the EMMA ESPL Experienced 4 Plus class.

Becoming EU champion is one thing but Ronald is the EU champion for the second year in a row in the same class!.
With maximum points given for install, design and safety Ronald silenced the competition with 148,2dB playing music!

CONGRATULATIONS Ronald for this great achievement!

What happens when you mix MTX and a Hammerhead off road GTS150?

You get the loudest Buggy in the world.

To get a real sound system on a buggy there are lots of modifications needed.
To start Buggies normally have no alternator to charge batteries so in this case everything like an alternator bracket, alternator housing etc needed to be custom made in order to mount a XS Power mini alternator. Together with the alternator a XS Power battery designed for race cars (small size battery) was fitted as well.
